The Short Answer
The Timms Review of PIP published an interim report on 9 July 2026 that made no recommendations. The review is led by Sir Stephen Timms MP, Minister for Social Security and Disability, and reports in full in autumn 2026. No change to PIP eligibility or to the assessment has taken effect, and none can until regulations follow a final report.

What an Interim Report With No Recommendations Means
It records progress rather than conclusions. A report that makes no recommendations proposes nothing, so there is nothing for regulations to implement and nothing for a claim to prepare for.
The distance from a recommendation to a change in an award is long: a final report, a government response, regulations laid before Parliament, and a commencement date. Each stage is public and dated.
What Is Actually in Force
Two things, both unrelated to the review. The April 2026 uprating changed all four rates, and S.I. 2026/395 has provided since 30 April 2026 that work alone cannot trigger a reassessment.
Everything else discussed publicly about PIP reform remains proposal. Awards continue to be decided on the 12 activities and their descriptors, with 8 points paying the standard rate and 12 the enhanced rate.

What This Site Will and Will Not Report
Payment impact only, with a date and a source. A proposal is reported as a proposal; a change is reported when it is in force and its commencement date is known.
That rule exists because the cost of getting this wrong falls on the reader. A claimant who believes an award is about to change may act on it, and no proposal currently in circulation changes any award.
